“The two gentlemen from Garo Hills, who had travelled to attend Kenny’s wedding”

:: Hardly been just few weeks, backed from the Nagaland Adventure, my old bones just recovered enough from the wear and tear of the travel, and Kenny’s Wedding is already on the card. Luckily, I do not have to travel that far this time, but I know, since my friends are coming from Garo Hills, means, definitely, some adventure can’t be avoided. And just the confirmations of the dates and their arrival, Jamsey (meeting again after Nagaland adventure) and Chrang (After a decade I guess, if I recall correctly) had made me excited for Kenny’s reception for a great re-union, nonetheless, the wedding ceremony/reception as well.

Travelling to Jowai, with my old room mate, Duncan, a very virtuous man in my Brezza, to attend Kenny’s Wedding at Jowai was a journey to wrap up the year, before settling down at home for year, as I thought, didn’t quite turn out to be the last trip. It was great trip travelling together after a long time, and brush up my virtuous side with him, and some clean jokes here and there, and to make the trip worth the take.

After some, swirling and curling, we swooshed through the National Highway 6 (NH-6), to finally arrived at PWD Guest House in Jowai. Greeted by the groom and his family- ever smiling and jolly family, warmly, swiftly to the dining, to have a brunch before the Wedding Ceremony begins.

And how can I not capture this moments in picture?“,

After a tiring drive, to be greeted with homely food and welcoming hosts made my day- indeed would make anyone’s day. And thankful to him for remembering us on this auspicious day, as he begins his journey to a new stage of life. Best wishes and prayers to Kenny and his happy family, seeing him rise, made me even more happy.

As I was expecting that when old friends meet, something unexpected is always expected. At the hind side, welcoming my two old friend from Garo hills to my rustic house for a morning tea and snack before their departure to Garo Hills let to an unexpected journey to the Eastern West Khasi Hills District of Meghalaya.

Chrang and Jamsey arrived at my house, which is rustic and with renovation still on its way. Welcomed them for a light Khasi snack and warm tea before they continue the journey to the West.

Post the tea, I had decided to see them off half way through their journey. Journey that wasn’t planned, but what a trip it was. How minutes turn to hours and how we travelled 60kms just to see them off? A journey accompanied by good friends and hot topics from the past and surrounded by beautiful landscapes of Eastern West Khasi Hills District, will be remembered as a journey to remember, last December trip.

It is here finally, West goes to West and East to East, until we meet again on another occasion.
