As per circulars issued by the Exchange and subsequent Presidential assent (approval) to The Finance Act 2023, Securities Transaction Tax (STT) charged on stock market transactions have been revised effective 1st April 2023.

Revised STT applicable on transactions w.e.f. 1st April 2023

How this affects your trades:

a) If you sell options: Assume you sell 100 lots of Nifty 17,400 CE (call option) at a premium of ₹56. STT is charged on the total sell side turnover.
